Reanda Malaysia hosted a "Break Through Tax Seminar" on 11 November, 2011 at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. This seminar focused on local tax updates and international tax topics of relevance for companies based in Malaysia. The seminar was led by Mr. L.L. Koong, managing partner and Mr. Patrick Teo, tax director of Reanda Malaysia. Mr. Koong and Mr. Teo highlighted the latest Malaysia's Budget 2012 which tabled by the government on 7th October and analyse on the GST on both macro- and micro- aspects. Mr. Franklin Lau, managing director and Mr. Ringo Chan, technical director of Reanda Hong Kong were invited by Reanda Malaysia to speak on the topic of "International tax planning in Malaysia, China, Hong Kong and Macau". Apart from a comparison of key features of the tax systems in the aforesaid regions, Mr. Lau and Mr. Chan also presented the audience with a number of useful strategies for tax planning while also addressing some of the issues that the Malaysia based companies face while investing into China. The seminar was well received by nearly 300 corporate senior executives. This seminar, being the first joint-firm seminar among the members in the network, is a strong example of the benefits of leveraging the Reanda relationships for mutual business opportunities.
