China Tax Forum – “New era of tax management in China – tax risk management of multinational companies”

Reanda China Suzhou branch office and Reanda Certified Tax Agent co-hosted a China Tax Forum – “New era of tax management in China – tax risk management of multinational companies” on 17 April, 2015 at the Banquet Hall of Crowne Plaza in Suzhou, China in which top industry experts shared key insights on the subject of tax risk management of multinational companies.

The forum was led by Mr. Zhu Yuxiang; tax partner of Reanda China Suzhou branch office and Vice Chairman of International Tax Panel (ITP), Mr. LL Koong; Managing partner of Reanda Malaysia, Chairman of ITP and Mr. Lorance Chan; tax principal of Reanda Hong Kong and Vice Chairman of ITP.

Distinguished guest speakers at the seminar included Professor Chen Yuzhuo, Ph.D.in Economics, senior tax expert, professor at the Party School of the State Administration of Taxation (SAT), the State Administration of Taxation Cadres College of China, Mr. Cheng Ping; personal income tax expert, the researcher of tax policy in China. The speakers gave detailed presentations on the issues in related to effective management of tax risks including new China general anti-tax avoidance rules, tax-related issues associated with the China "Go out policy", new China tax rules hitting offshore indirect equity transfer, China transfer pricing risk management, management of profit repatriation and payment remittances from China, practical experiences on real-life tax cases in China and management of tax risks relating to international assignees in China. Mr. Franklin Lau, CEO of Reanda International was invited to give the opening remarks while Mr. LL Koong, and Mr. Lorance Chan, were invited to give presentation on “Tax risk assessment by MNCs under the current framework of international anti-tax avoidance” and “Hong Kong as an investment holding company location for investments into the Mainland China” respectively.

This forum was well attended by some 60 senior executives including Reanda member representatives from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Cambodia, Japan and Korea, as well as the C-suite entrepreneur clients from Suzhou and other parts of China. The seminar was successful and the feedback from the participants was extremely positive.

This forum, being the first and significant regional event focusing on cross border tax issues organized by Suzhou office of Reanda China, indeed offered an invaluable networking opportunity for the accomplished Chinese tax specialists, senior executives of multinational companies as well as the tax professionals between the Suzhou partners and overseas member firms to exchange insights. With the success of the forum, we look forward to the future series of events to be held in different cities across the country geared by the dynamicity and capability of the strong tax team of Reanda China.

Visit to Reanda China Jiangnan branch office

Followed with the China Tax Forum, the Reanda member representatives from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Japan took the opportunity to visit the Jiangnan branch of Reanda China located in Zhejiang province on 18 April 2015.

In the morning, the delegates were warmly received by partners from Reanda China Zhejiang Jiangnan Branch - Mr. Pu Wenpin and Mrs. Gu Yuqian. This visit brought the overseas partners an excellent opportunity to network with the Zhejiang partners to better understand their recent regional development and identify the mutual business opportunities.
