A team of our Partners from Reanda UK have taken part in a dinner with members of the Embassy of China in London.
Hosted at the embassy building in Portland Place, delegates from the Chinese Government met with our Managing Partner, Robert Bean and another Partner, Alain Stechler, as well as the head of our dedicated China Desk, Muhong He.
During the visit the team managed to discuss the firm’s close relationship with China through its membership of Reanda International – a network made up of more than 100 offices with over 3,000 people, working across 31 territories – which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Top 100 accountancy firm Grunberg & Co.
During the meetings, the representatives of Reanda UK also outlined the network’s intentions for further expansion into the region in future and explored how they could work with the embassy to aid UK-China business collaboration.
Reanda UK already supports a number of clients in South East Asia through Grunberg & Co and has previously met with Mr Jin Xu, Minister Counsellor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy, who helped with the opening of its new offices in Colindale, North London.
Speaking about the visit, Robert said: “It was fantastic to meet Bao Ling – the Minister Counsellor (Economic & Commercial), Zheng Jiang – first secretary and Yi Zihan – Attaché at the Embassy of China in London and it was interesting to hear more about the wide variety of opportunities open to businesses in the UK and China via its range of economic programmes.
“Having spoken for some time with Bao Ling and Zheng Jiang it is clear to us that there is a real appetite in China to explore the UK market and collaborate with accountants and business advisors, such as Grunberg & Co, who not only have knowledge of Britain but also have connections in their own home country.”
Robert said that he had high hopes of working more closely with the embassy in future to open up new opportunities to existing and prospective clients around the world.
“It was a real honour to be invited to the embassy and we really enjoyed learning more about its important role in the UK,” added Robert.
