Cross-straits, Hong Kong and Macau Accounting Profession Conference 2012

From 3-5 September 2012, CEO Mr. Franklin Lau of Reanda International was invited to participate in the "Cross-straits, Hong Kong and Macau Accounting Profession Conference 2012" organized by the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA), the Taiwan CPA Association, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants(HKICPA) and the Union of Associations of Professional Accountants of Macau.

The three-day Conference, themed on "The Convergence of Regulations, Accounting and Auditing Standards Towards an International Standard", was held in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan this year.

Leaders from the accounting regulatory bodies on both sides of the Taiwan Strait were invited to deliver speeches at the occasion to share their insights on the cross-Strait hot accounting issues: Mr. Chen Yu Gui, Vice President and Secretary General of CICPA spoke on the topic of issues in incorporating international accounting standards with local customs and practices in China; Mr. Chang Wei Chen, Chairman of Taiwan CPA Association addressed the necessities on setting standard rates of audit fees in Taiwan in his speech; Mr. Cham Kam Wing, Clement, Vice President of the HKICPA and Chairman of Financial Reporting Standards Committee, presented on the topic of the application and challenges of implementing IFRS in Hong Kong.; Ms. Kwok Sze Man, Ines, Vice Chairman of the Macau Society of Registered Auditors discussed the challenges and plans for adopting IFRS in Macau.

The Conference was held every year starting from 2006. It aims to provide a platform for accounting professionals from Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau to exchange their views on the latest developments in the accountancy profession.
