On March 10 2022, Reanda International head offices held a virtual meeting with the European Regional Committee members Mr. Robert Bean, Mr. Achim Siegmann along with director of Reanda Cyprus Mr. Adonis Theocharides and managing partner of Reanda Netherlands Mr. Gerard Uijtendaal to discuss the situation of our member firms in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus and to think about the immediate and practical assistance to our Reanda family members who are in need during this ongoing war crisis in Ukraine.
Here is an update about the present situation of the three Reanda presence in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus:
➢ Ukraine – While Mr. Gerard Uijtendaal and his fellow partner Ms. Olga Lukashenko have been supervising the startup of Ukraine firm, there are several professionals in Ukraine with whom they are cooperating. Gerard and Olga have discussed relocation and other support of the staff and families.
➢ Russia – As advised by the partner Ms. Victoria Salamatina of Reanda Russia, Reanda Russia does not serve any sanctioned entities nor individuals.
➢ Belarus – As advised by the CEO Ms. Maryia Lemiaza of Reanda Belarus, Reanda Belarus does not serve any sanctioned entities nor individuals.
At the closure of the meeting, it unanimously agreed that Reanda International should raise emergency assistances to our colleagues and their families in Ukraine. Ms. Olga Lukashenko, the Ukrainian partner of Reanda Netherlands, together with the suggestions from Reanda International European Regional Committee, will coordinate the support and donations from Reanda community to reach out to our Ukrainian friends and families. They will also help to identify and share details of certain reputable aid initiatives and international humanitarian organisations for extending our donations to those people whose living have been thrown into chaos by this ongoing crisis.
While we are concerned about our colleagues in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus, and all people affected by this crisis, Reanda International, being a global professional organization and a member of Forum of Firms, are reminding all our members and business units our professional responsibility to act in the public interest, beyond the needs of an individual client or employer. Our member firms and business units are committed to closely monitor and assess the risk exposure of their firms and clients to the sanctions by:
➢ check the latest national sanctions lists and guidance;
➢ identify if the firms and its clients should abide by EU, UK, US and other countries’ sanctions on top of national regulations, and report to the headquarters immediately if such exposures are identified.
