Reanda International's 2013 Annual Conference was held from 9 through 10 December, 2013 at the Sunworld Dynasty Hotel in the beautiful city of Beijing, China. Hosted and co-organized by China member firm, Reanda Certified Public Accountants LLP ("Reanda China"), this year the conference was attended by 40 delegates from all 16 Reanda International network firms was an important success.
The theme "Beyond Asia, Connecting Worldwide" this year represents our aspirations to continuously grow beyond Asia and advance as the leading international accounting network.
On 9th December 2013, the conference as usual, preceded by the board meeting of Reanda International. In the afternoon, the conference commenced with a warm welcome by our gracious host Mr. Huang Jinhui, Chairman of Reanda China.
The meeting continued with Mr. Franklin Lau, CEO of Reanda International presenting the network's performance of 2013, strategies and initiatives for 2014. The highlight of the conference included brief updates from members firms on their latest development and sharing on success cases of international cooperation. Other highlight included the representatives from Reanda Australia, Reanda Hong Kong and Reanda Malaysia sharing their experiences and views on the setup of the China Desk as well as the potential benefits in the future.
Day 2 of the conference continued with the International Tax Panel Meeting. The theme for the International Tax Panel Meeting "Beyond Border, Be Taxwise" tied in closely with the theme of the Annual Conference. The objective of meeting was to bring together Reanda tax partners to improve links and exchange insights on cross-border tax issues. Mr. LL Koong, Chairman of the International Tax Panel(ITP) reported the development of the Tax Panel over the past year and Ms. Tian Xiaolong, vice-Chairman of ITP initiated an interactive discussion in related to taxation and its related information of respective provinces in China. The Panel members were also very excited to discuss about the ways to encourage information exchange on tax updates of respective tax jurisdictions among ITP members. During the discussion, many ideas were evoked and proposed to the network in relation to the ways in facilitating greater communications and interaction between network firms and with Reanda Network both internally and externally to accelerate and enhance the competitiveness of Network's tax capability. The meeting was ended with action points to be taken by the ITP and the Reanda International Hong Kong administrative office; a number of initiatives will be developed in the course of 2014.The meeting was further brimmed with a series of presentations from member firms to provide updates of topical tax developments in their respective regions.
In the afternoon, all the delegates were cordially invited by Reanda China to attend its 20th Anniversary Celebration cum Unveiling Ceremony of Reanda Certified Public Accountants LLP. More than 300 delegates, including government officials, clients, and representatives of overseas network firms of Reanda Network gathered at this venue with Reanda China to celebrate its two decades with rich tradition. Mr. Huang, Chairman of Reanda China addressed the festivities with a opening speech commemorating important milestone of the firm history while at the same time looking at the new challenges in the future.
The event comprised a mix of exciting programs including speeches by government officials, ceremony embarking Reanda China's successful conversion into the new LLP structure, traditional Chinese drum and dance performance as well as entertaining performances by the staff members of Reanda China. Reanda International's signing ceremony to admit M Y Wu & Co., CPAs as the network's new Taiwan member firm and AMC GmbH Wirtschaftspr羹fungsgesellschaft as the network's new German correspondent firm was also held during this grand occasion. The festivities ended with a sumptuous gala dinner in the evening and will certainly leave a lasting impression with the guests.
Through exchanging of ideas and experiences among different network firms to their mutual benefits, we believe that the Reanda International Annual Conference will certainly pave the way for more future cooperation among members including referrals, joint assignments, sharing of expertise and resources.
Reanda Macau has offered to organize the Reanda International Annual Conference 2014 and this was unanimously agreed.
