Reanda International Annual Conference 2014 in Macau China

Reanda International's 2014 Annual Conference was held from 25 through 26 November, 2014 at Holiday Inn Macao Cotai Central Hotel in the beautiful city of Macau SAR, China. Hosted and co-organized by Macau member firm, Reanda EFA, this year the conference was attended by more than 50 delegates from all 18 Reanda International network firms was an important success. This year, we have the pleasure to invite the Director of the Central Regional Branch of the Audit Chamber of Russia - Ms. Liudmila Bystritskaya, accompanied by Managing Partner of Reanda Russia – Mr. Igor Zhuravlev to grace the conference.

The theme “Unleash Potency, Strive for success" this year is about leveraging the value and vitality of our resources and unlocking the full potential to grow. The theme also exemplifies our commitment to strive for mutual success through sharing of resources, knowledge and skills within the network.

On 25th November 2014, the conference as usual, preceded by the board meeting of Reanda International. Other members paid a courtesy  visit to the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) to get to know more about the business landscape in Macau for overseas investors. The delegates were warmly received by IPIM Executive Officer, Ms. Irene Lau, Offshore Department Senior Manager, Mr. Jose Tse and Manager, Mr. Dicky Leung.

While 2014 marked the 5th anniversary of Reanda International, the conference commenced with a series of events including  launch of the 5th anniversary celebration slides, champagne toasting and cake cutting to celebrate the milestone of 5-year accomplishments with all delegates in convivial style that will certainly live long in the memory of all who attended.

The conference officially began followed by a heartfelt opening speech by Mr. Huang Jinhui, Chairman of Reanda International.

Honorable guests included Mr. Jose Tse, Senior Manager of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) was invited to deliver a speech on the topic of “Macao Investment Environment and Opportunities”. The meeting continued with Mr. Franklin Lau, CEO of Reanda International presenting the network's performance of 2014, strategies and initiatives for 2015. The highlight of the conference included brief updates from members firms on their latest development and sharing on success cases of international cooperation. Other highlight included the representatives from Reanda Australia and Reanda Malaysia sharing their experiences and views on the setup of the China Desk.

Day 2 of the conference continued with the International Tax Panel Meeting. The theme for the International Tax Panel Meeting "Upclose with ITP-Re-energise the competitiveness" tied in closely with the theme of the Annual Conference. The objective of meeting was to demonstrate our determination to leverage tax expertise of all member firms for defining our edge and unleashing our unlimited potency. Mr. LL Koong, Chairman of the International Tax Panel (ITP) introduced the arrangement for Tax Year Book 2015/2016 and the new publication: Doing Business in China to be launched in late 2014 and 2015 respectively. Honorable guests include Ms. Silvia Lou who is a Macau practicing lawyer and the partner of Lou Sio Fong Lawyer & Associates was invited to deliver a speech on the topic of “Setting up your Macau business”. The meeting was further brimmed with a series of presentations from member firms to provide glance of tax regime and comprehensive update of topical tax developments in their respective regions.

This was followed by an interactive discussion on the proposed creation of a mobile application for accessing the network’s publications and the proposed publication of Doing Business Guide. The Panel members actively participated in the discussion while many ideas were evoked and proposed to the network in relation to the ways in promoting our brand.

After a lunch at our leisure, the conference ended with a half day memorable tour to explore the delights of the city.
