Reanda International's 2017 Annual Conference was held on 3-5 December 2017 at the Sheraton Shanghai Waigaoqiao Hotel in Shanghai, China. The conference was well attended by over 120 partners and professionals from Reanda International network firms, who shared their professional experience, ways of cooperation and explored cross-border opportunities.
Inspired by the momentum of Chinese government’s Belt and Road initiative aiming to advocates the Silk Road spirit of peaceful cooperation, mutual learning, mutual benefits and win-win results, the conference theme of Reanda International this year is “Belt and Road Plus” which exemplifies our continuous commitment and dedication to assist all members to achieve international business growth through fostering closer interaction and strengthening regional and multilateral communication with their fellow members along and beyond the route.
The annual conference provided an excellent opportunity for delegates, both long standing and new, to connect with their Reanda colleagues, exchange insights and pursue business networking opportunities that are extremely beneficial for generating business together.
At the day before day one conference, all delegates joined the 24th anniversary dinner hosted by Reanda China at Sheraton Shanghai Waigaoqiao Hotel. Both delegates and Chinese partners gathered together to celebrate this meaningful occasion.
On 3 December 2017, all overseas and Chinese partners attended the Reanda International Network Global Partners Conference which commenced with welcome remarks by Mr. Hunag Jinhui, Chairman of Reanda International. This followed by a spectrum of speech delivered by distinguished guests, namely Mr. Liu Shanzai, founder and senior adviser of Reanda China, Former Executive Vice Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, Deputy Director of Hong Kong Liaison Office of The Central People’s Government, Senior Consultants of Reanda; Ms. Feng Shuping, President of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Prof. Wang Liyan, senior adviser of Reanda China, Mr. Han Dongdong, senior adviser of Yonyou and Ms. Yu Jia, CEO of UniCareer. After this was the signing ceremony to admit Aren Bağımsız Denetim ve SMMMA.Ş. and Studio Rigobon Bitetti De Luca & Ass. as the network’s new Turkey and Italy member firm respectively; Artia Poreia Ltd as the network’s new Greece correspondent firm and to welcome Portugal firm Cascais, Pêga Magro & Roque, SROC Lda and Romania firm Cloud Accounting Srl to join Reanda International. The signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation agreement between Reanda International, Reanda Russia and Shenzhen Jiu Long Fu Co. Ltd, a renowned Chinese conglomerate based in Shenzhen China, had also been launched during the conference which tightens the cooperation between three parties.
In addition, the highlight of the meeting was the Reanda International Network Outstanding Contribution Award Ceremony which comprised of Outstanding Contribution Award and Outstanding Brand Building Award. The Outstanding Contribution Award was established for individuals who have made significant and substantial contribution to the development of Reanda International. The important factor in this award is that the person has served with distinction and has played a significant part in the development of Reanda International at either the regional or international level. Mr. LL Koong, CEO of Reanda Malaysia, Mr. Mitsuo Kubo, CEO of Readna Japan, Mr. Ma Hong, Partner of Reanda China and Mr. Franklin Lau, CEO of Reanda International were the award winners. And for the objective of the Outstanding Brand Building Award, it aims to give credit to firm that has contributed to the Reanda brand building in their country and the winner was Reanda Cyprus who incorporated the Reanda branding into their new office, making the first office building in Europe bearing the Reanda logo, for which created a compelling impression in the minds of clients, staff as well as all their fellow Reanda members.
The conference was further brimmed with insightful sharing of Germany firm and Reanda Cyprus about jobs referred by Reanda China, which followed with a sharing by Reanda Russia on difficulties encountered in penetrating the Chinese enterprise markets in Russia and how the firm unlocked the business relations with Chinese business community and enterprises in Russia with the assistance of Reanda Beijing office. After the Global Partners Conference, the Board meeting of Reanda International was also held at Sheraton Shanghai Waigaoqiao Hotel.
The day one conference was rounded out by a gala dinner hosted by Reanda International at the Riverview Hotel Shanghai. All delegates share fond memories of the past 8 years of Reanda International.
In the morning of 4 December 2017, the council meeting was commenced with an opening address by Chairman Mr. Huang Jinhui, and followed by the presentation made by Mr. Franklin Lau, CEO of Reanda International offering an overview of the network’s development in 2017 and the strategic plans for 2018 embodied by the conference theme Belt and Road Plus. The highlights of the meeting included the presentation of member firms on their latest development, the upcoming local business opportunities in their country and any assistance needed from Reanda Network for unlocking business opportunities. Additionally, Ms. Michelle Zhao, Head of the International Business Coordination Department of Beijing office shared her experience of coordination work for Chinese enterprises clients in the Southeast Asia Region during her stationing in Reanda Malaysia.
In the afternoon, for the first time, the network hosted the M&A panel meeting, chaired by Mr. Huang Jinhui, Chairman of the International M&A Panel of Reanda International, was kicked off by the successful M&A cases and experiences sharing by members of M&A steering committee. It is followed by the sharing of Reanda Hong Kong on some key elements when handling M&A assignment. After the meeting, the Reanda delegation led by Mr. Huang Jinhui, paid a courtesy visit to Sinochem office, client of Reanda China. All Reanda delegation learnt the latest development of Sinochem and both parties expressed the interest on further exploring potential cooperation in the near future.
The day was ended with a dinner hosted by Reanda International Beijing Head Office at Yanjia Caiguan where the delegates were offered to experience the traditional Hunan cuisine.
In the last day of meeting, the International tax meeting, chaired by Mr. LL Koong, Chairman of the International Tax Panel (ITP) of Reanda International, was commenced with the updates and development of the Tax Steering Committee(TSC) and International Tax Panel by Mr. LL Koong. Then was followed by the sharing of noteworthy tax development in China, Hong Kong and Malaysia by Ms. Huang Xiaohong, Mr. Lorance Chan and Mr. LL Koong respectively. As the meeting aimed to discuss the development of Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS), the highlight of the meeting was a mix of presentation from fellow member firms to share noteworthy tax and BEPS development in their respective country/region. The meeting was ended by a heated discussion on a variety of key topics relating to tax and BEPS development.
After the ITP meeting, as the 24th World Internet Conference was being held at Wuzhen, all Reanda delegates visited the exhibition of cutting-edge internet products at the conference. Exhibitors included well-known tech companies from around the world, including Apple, Alibaba, and Huawei, released their latest products at the conference.
On 6 December 2017, the delegates managed to relax over a full day tour to Zhouzhuang, one of the most famous water townships in China, noted for its profound cultural background, the well preserved ancient residential houses and the elegant watery views.
Reanda China has offered to organize the Reanda International Annual Conference 2018 and this was unanimously agreed.
