Reanda International's 2018 Annual Conference was held from 18 to 20 November 2018 in Beijing, China. The conference was well attended by over 210 partners and professionals from Reanda International network firms, who shared their professional insights, ways of cooperation and explored cross-border opportunities.
While our network aims to service multinational clients that have service needs in many countries, we always looks at ways to assist members in exploring new business opportunities and winning new international clients. With the strong momentum of growing referrals within the network, this year’s theme “Ready for International Clients?” is closely aligned with our abovementioned initiatives, aims to spark members’ ideas and reflection on how to enhance the firm’s capacity and get ready to serve the international clients.
On the 18th November was the 2018 Belt and Road Business Services Forum jointly organized by Reanda International and Reanda China, was held at the prestigious hotel China World Summit Wing Hotel. The forum was well attended by over 400 guests and delegates from government departments, embassies, business service organization and our network firms. During the Forum, a number of distinguished guests shared their insights on how Chinese enterprises could seize the business opportunities brought by the Belt and Road initiative and enhance their service capability at the same time. In the evening, all delegates attended the 25th anniversary dinner hosted by Reanda China to celebrate this significant occasion.
The morning of the 19th November 2018 was begun with a visit to the Reanda Beijing headquarters. It was followed by a sightseeing tour to the Tiananmen Square arranged for all the Reanda delegates and their accompanying persons.
In the afternoon, the council meeting was held at the Lijingwan International Hotel. The meeting commenced with an opening address by Chairman Mr. Huang Jinhui, and followed by the presentation made by Mr. Franklin Lau, CEO of Reanda International offering an overview of the network’s development in 2018 and the strategic plans for 2019 embodied by the conference theme Ready for International Clients. After that it were the launching ceremony of the Global Technical and Quality Assurance Department and the BEPS/Transfer Pricing Team, which further enhance network’s internal monitoring and capacity of serving international clients. The highlights of the meeting included the presentation of member firms from the UK, Nepal, Germany, Madagascar, Pakistan and Egypt, on their latest development, the upcoming local business opportunities in their countries and any assistance needed from Reanda Network for unlocking business opportunities.
The day two conference was rounded off by a gala dinner hosted by Reanda International at the Nan Men Shuan Rou which serves authentic hot pot in traditional coal fired bronze pots in refreshingly unpretentious surroundings. All delegates share fond memories of the past 9 years of Reanda International.
In the last day of meeting, the International Tax Panel (ITP) meeting, chaired by Mr. Lorance Chan (Hong Kong), Vice-Chairman of the ITP of Reanda International commenced with an overview of the achievements and development of the ITP in 2018. It was followed by sharing of Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) development in Asia Pacific and Europe region, as well as noteworthy tax development in China and Hong Kong jointly presented by Ms. Jacqueline Huang (China), Mr. Lorance Chan and Ms. Alessandra Bitetti (Italy), Vice-Chairmen of the ITP. The highlight of the meeting was a mix of presentation from fellow members, namely Japan, Italy, Nepal, Germany and Macau to share noteworthy tax and BEPS development in their respective country/region. The meeting was ended by a dynamic discussion on a variety of key topics relating to tax and BEPS development.
The Merger & Acquisition (M&A) panel meeting of Reanda International was held in the afternoon and chaired by Mr. Huang Jinhui, Chairman of the International M&A Panel of Reanda International. The meeting was brimmed by the successful M&A cases and experiences sharing by Vice-Chairman of the M&A steering committee, Mr. Zuo Beiping and Ms. Zhao Xiaowei, and members from Turkey, UAE, Netherlands, Mozambique and Belarus. The meeting was ended by a heated discussion amongst delegates. In that evening, all delegates enjoyed the Chinese traditional acrobatic performance at the Chaoyang Theatre as arranged by Reanda International.
On 21st November 2018, the delegates managed to relax over a full day tour to the Mutianyu Great Wall, the longest wall in China who has been bestowed with the honour of being a AAAAA tourist spot, and the National Stadium (Bird Nest), the main stadium of the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games which can accommodate 91,000 audiences.
