Reanda International Annual Conference 2019 in Dubai, UAE

Reanda International's 2019 Annual Conference was held from 9 to 12 December 2019 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The conference was well attended by over 80 partners and professionals from Reanda International network firms, who shared their professional insights, ways of cooperation and explored cross-border opportunities.

While this year is the 10th Anniversary of Reanda International, this year’s theme “Ambition. Success” focused on the ambitions, challenges and successes that the network and our members have realised in the past decade as well as those foreseen ones for the future outlook.

Day 1 on 9th December, the 3rd Belt and Road Business Services Forum hosted by Reanda International and co-organised by Reanda UAE was held at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, Dubai. The forum was well attended by over 200 guests and delegates from government departments, embassies, free trade zones in Dubai, business organizations and Reanda International network firms. During the Forum, a number of distinguished guests shared their insights and experience on Belt and Road initiative-related issues. In the evening, all delegates attended the 10th anniversary celebration dinner hosted by Reanda International to celebrate this significant occasion at the Hotel. All participants shared fond memories of the past 10 years of Reanda International.

Day 2 began with a pre-annual conference tour to the Dubai Miracle Garden where Reanda delegates networked and mingled with each others. Meanwhile, the Board meeting of Reanda International was held at the Hotel prior to the International Members Meeting. In the afternoon, the first day of International Members Meeting was held. The meeting commenced by an opening remark by Chairman Mr. Huang Jinhui, and followed by the keynote speech made by CEO of RAK International Corporate Centre (RAK ICC) Dr. Sameer Al Ansari to introduce the latest development and opportunities in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. After the presentation by the distinguished guest, Mr. Franklin Lau, CEO of Reanda International offered an overview of the network’s development in 2019 and presented his insights on the conference theme  “Ambition. Success”. The meeting was then highlighted by various presentations from network firms regarding the development of different regions, including the ASEAN region, European region and Nepal and South Asia regions.

In the second day of the International Members Meeting held on 11th December, the meeting started with a presentation by Ms. Mira Abdulla Al Mheiri, Senior Officer of Marketing and Corporate Communications Department from Dubai Airport Free Zone. The meeting was continued by diverse presentations from fellow members, including Reanda UAE, Portugal, Netherlands, UK, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, China, Malaysia and Italy covering noteworthy tax, BEPS, M&A issues in respective regions and issues related to the development of Reanda International. The meeting was ended by an engaging and dynamic discussion on members’ ideas on the conference theme, “Ambition. Success”: the major and imminent challenge to Reanda International for continuous growth in the next 10 years, and the suggestion to tackle the challenge. The day two conference was rounded off by a festive dinner hosted by Reanda UAE at the Hotel.

On 12th December, the delegates managed to relax over a full day tour to the various well-known attractions in Dubai, including the Jumeirah beach, Burj Al Arab, The Atlantis - Palm Jumeirah, Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall and Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo after three days of intensive meetings.
