On November 29-30, 2024, the Reanda International Members Meeting took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, bringing together representatives from our global network firms. Under the theme “Cohering for novel future,” this meeting served as a dynamic platform for engaging discussions on the latest developments and emerging trends across various fields, including tax, audit and assurance, consulting, as well as ESG and sustainability.
The International Members Meeting commenced on November 29, hosted by Ms. Alberta Sie, the Company Secretary of Reanda International. In the opening remarks, Chairman Mr. Huang Jinhui shared his reflection on the achievements of the past year and outlined visions for future growth. CEO Mr. Franklin Lau provided a comprehensive overview of Reanda International and insights into the Network’s global business expansion and service innovations.
Regional Presidents from Asia and Oceania, Southeast Asia and South Asia, Middle East and Africa, and Europe shared updates on the network activities held and the latest business developments in their respective regions.
During the tax session, Mr. L.L. Koong, Chairman of the Reanda International Tax Panel and Managing Partner of Reanda Malaysia, presented the work report of the International Tax Panel and updates on tax publications, global transfer pricing services and significant tax news. He also moderated a roundtable discussion with Mr. Sudip Paudel, Tax Partner of Reanda Nepal, Mr. Avinash Jagetiya, Regional President of the Middle East and Africa Region of Reanda International; Managing Director of Reanda UAE and Mr. Robert Bean, Director and Vice-Regional President of the European Region of Reanda International; Managing Director of Reanda UK.
On the second day, the International Members Meeting continued with discussions on audit and assurance, moderated by Mr. Kenny Choi, Global Technical Officer of Reanda International and Director of Reanda Hong Kong. He addressed audit quality management and the complexities of international group audits and regulatory scrutiny. Insights into cybersecurity services were provided by Mr. Bharat Rijal, Director and Vice-Regional President of Southeast Asia & South Asia Region of Reanda International, Managing Partner of Reanda Nepal while Ms. Vivienne Chiang, Managing Director of Reanda Singapore, shared her firm’s experience in applying AI technologies in auditing.
In the consulting session, CEO Mr. Lau presented strategic directions of Reanda Consulting Network, showcasing successful cases from the network firms that have expanded consulting services. Mr. Achim Siegmann, Vice-Regional President of the European Region of Reanda International, CEO of Reanda Germany; Ms. Nadia Yaich, CEO of Reanda Tunisia; and Mr. Sunil Jagetiya, Director of Reanda International, Chairman of Reanda UAE, also highlighted the diverse consulting developments across various markets.
The ESG and sustainability session was divided into two parts. The first part was moderated by Mr. Kenny Choi, Chairman of the ESG and Sustainability Steering Committee and Director of Reanda Hong Kong. He presented the work report of the Steering Committee and an overview of IFAC ISSA 5000. This part also featured presentations from Ms. Olga Lukashenko, Partner of Reanda Netherlands, and Mr. Ken Wu, Managing Partner of Reanda Taiwan. They shared their firms’ experiences in developing ESG services and discussed opportunities for global and regional collaboration. The second part, led by CEO Mr. Lau and Ms. Zhao Xiaowei, Director of Reanda International and Senior Partner of Reanda China, focused on the implications and opportunities arising from China’s dual carbon policy and carbon asset management.
The International Members Meeting also included a signing ceremony for membership agreements. Chairman Mr. Huang signed the correspondent firm agreement with the India firm - N.K.S Chauhan & Associates for the Accounting Network. He also signed the member firm agreements with Reanda UAE, Reanda Netherlands and Reanda UK for the Consulting Network.
In closing, CEO Mr. Lau and Ms. Michelle Bernardi, CEO of Reanda Indonesia, expressed their sincere gratitude to all participants. Chairman Mr. Huang concluded the meeting by outlining a visionary roadmap for Reanda International over the next 15 years, emphasizing goals that include enhancing regional office development, expanding the Network in the Americas to reach 100 network firms, and nominating our partners for positions in international accounting organizations.
The International Members Meeting reaffirmed Reanda International's commitment to excellence and innovation in the accounting and consulting sectors, paving the way for a promising future.
