Reanda International Annual Conference 2023 - International Members Meeting 2023 in Beijing, China

Reanda International's International Members Meeting 2023 was held on 19 - 20 November 2023 in Beijing, China. The meeting was well attended by over 80 partners and professionals from Reanda International network firms, who shared their professional insights, ways of cooperation and explored cross-border opportunities.

The theme of the International Members Meeting was “Succession, Sustainability, High-Quality Development”, focusing on developing strategic succession plans, seeking sustainable growth, and pursuing high-quality development.

The meeting commenced with an opening remark by Chairman Mr. Huang Jinhui.

CEO Mr. Franklin Lau presented an overview of Reanda International’s latest developments and insights on the conference theme “Succession, Sustainability, High-Quality Development”.

Regional Updates

The meeting was then highlighted by regional updates and developments of the network firms presented by the regional presidents:

Mr. Mitsuo Kubo, Regional President of Asia and Oceania Region, CEO of Reanda Japan

Mr. Avinash Jagetiya, Regional President of the Middle East and Africa Region and Managing Director of Reanda UAE

Mr. Gerard Uijtendaal, Regional President of the European Region, Managing Partner of Reanda Netherlands

Mr. L. L. Koong, Regional President of the Southeast Asia & South Asia Region of Reanda International; Managing Partner of Reanda Malaysia

Topic Presentation and Panel Discussion

There were deep-dive presentations and panel discussions on a variety of topics including engagements with MNCs and large Chinese enterprises, ESG, AI, tax and consulting services presented by fellow member firms from Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Malta, Nepal, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Taiwan, Tunisia, UAE, UK.

The first session – “Experience sharing on winning engagements from MNCs and large Chinese enterprises” was presented by Ms. Zhao Xiaowei, Director of Reanda International, Ms. Vivienne Chiang, Managing Director of Reanda Singapore and moderated by Mr. Kenny Choi, Global Technical Officer of Reanda International. They shared successful collaboration projects among the Network and discussed ways to facilitate the network firms to coordinate and collaborate to provide better services to clients.

The second session "Green Opportunities - Environmental, Social and Governance, ESG Assurance Reporting” was moderated by CEO Mr. Franklin Lau. Speakers included Mr. James Ye, IC & ESG Division Leader of Reanda Hong Kong, Mr. Robert Bean, Board Director and Vice Regional President of the European Region of Reanda International and Managing Partner of Reanda UK, Ms. Olga Lukashenko, Audit Partner of Reanda Netherlands and Mr. John Lai, Manager of Reanda Taiwan. They presented and exchanged views on the latest ESG reporting requirements and the recent developments of their ESG services team.

In the third session “The Age of Artificial Intelligence”, Dr. Sidney Tam, CEO of Reanda Consulting (HK) Ltd, Mr. Peter Polgar, Founding Director of Reanda Australia, and Mr. Shawn Lou, Audit Manager of Reanda Malta presented and shared the logic and philosophy behind the concept of AI, as well as the applications and potential impacts on the auditing, accounting and consulting services. Then, Mr. Robert Bean, Board Director and Vice Regional President of the European Region of Reanda International and Managing Partner of Reanda UK led a fruitful discussion with these speakers.

The fourth session “Ever-changing Tax Challenges” focused on the impactful tax matters and niche tax services offered to MNCs. The session was presented by Mr. Avinash Jagetiya, Regional President of the Middle East and Africa Region of Reanda International, Managing Director of Reanda UAE and Mr. Ajit Kumar Paul, Managing Partner of the Bangladesh Firm. Mr. L. L. Koong, Chairman of the International Tax Panel, Regional President of the Southeast Asia & South Asia Region of Reanda International also shared his insights and moderated a lively panel discussion.

The fifth session “Rising Star - Reanda Consulting” was presented by Ms. Nadia Yaich, Managing Partner of the Tunisia firm. Speakers included Mr. Paul Chan, Chairman and Director of Reanda Consulting (HK) Ltd, Mr. Gerard Uijtendaal, Regional President of the European Region of Reanda International and Managing Partner of Reanda Netherlands, and Mr. Rashed Awaji, Managing Partner of Reanda Saudi Arabia. They shared the successful consulting projects and discussed Reanda International’s future developments and prospects of consulting services.

The last session “Succession, Sustainability, High-Quality Development” was led Chairman Mr. Huang Jinhui and CEO Mr. Franklin Lau to explore strategic succession, sustainable growth and high-quality development plans and suggestions for Reanda International.

During the last session Mr. Bharat Rijal, Board Director of Reanda International, Managing Partner of Reanda Nepal and Mr. Sitesh Bhattarai, CEO of Reanda Nepal also shared how the synergy has been achieved between Reanda International and Reanda Nepal.

Quality Management Presentation

During the meeting, Mr. Kenny Choi, Global Technical Officer of Reanda International, presented the quality management – monitoring, remediation and evaluation. Mr. Choi explained the procedures for firms to carry out quality management, as well as the technical support from Reanda International.

Welcoming New Firms to Reanda International

A Member Firm Agreement Signing Ceremony with Reanda Zimbabwe was held in the mid of the meeting. The agreement was signed by Chairman Huang and Mr. Emmanuel Dhenhere, Managing Director of Reanda Zimbabwe. With the joining of Reanda Zimbabwe, Reanda International is optimistic about further expanding our presence in Africa.

Chairman Huang presented the new firm welcoming souvenir to Ms. Nadia Yaich, Managing Partner of the Tunisia firm.

Mr. Surapon Thawanyavichajit, Managing Partner of Reanda Thailand, which became a full member firm of Reanda International in January 2023, introduced his firm.

Conclusion

The productive and fruitful International Members Meeting was successfully concluded with joyful mingling among the global partners of Reanda International.
