The UAE’s Hamriyah Free Zone Investment Roadshow Promotion Forum (Shanghai), co-organised by Reanda International and the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, was held successfully in Shanghai, China

The UAE's Hamriyah Free Zone Investment Roadshow Promotion Forum(Shanghai), co-organised by Reanda International and the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, was a resounding success. The Forum was held at the Renaissance Shanghai Pudong Hotel in Shanghai, China on 20 June 2024 with the support of several key organisations, including the Investment Promotion Service Committee of the China World Trade Organisation Research Association, the International Shipping Service Promotion Centre of Lingang New Area, the Shanghai Computer Industry Association, the Shanghai Household Electric Appliances Industry Association, Reanda International “Belt and Road” Finance, Tax and Legal Supporting Centre and the China-Africa Private Chamber of Commerce. The Forum featured insightful presentations, panel discussions and one-on-one business meetings, fostering valuable connections between Chinese enterprises and the Hamriyah Free Zone delegation to discuss the immense potential for Sino-Arab investment and cooperation.

The Forum attracted nearly 200 guests, including representatives from Hamriyah Free Zone, experts, “going out” Chinese enterprises, business service organisations and media. In his opening remarks, Chairman Mr. Huang Jinhui highlighted the importance of the Middle East as an outbound investment destination for China due to its strategic location, abundant resources, and huge market potential. H.E. Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, highlighted the long-standing trade and cultural ties as well as business opportunities between the UAE and China in his speech.

Ms. Bai Xue, Head of the Market Development Department of Hamriyah Free Zone, presented the investment environment of Hamriyah Free Zone, highlighting its unique advantages, registration services, preferential policies, and contracted projects.

During the panel discussion session, Ms. Wei Xinshu, a distinguished lawyer from Beijing Jingshi (Shanghai) Law Firm and Deputy Director of the Foreign-related Business Steering Committee, led a lively discussion on the strategic advantages of Sharjah, UAE as a pivotal gateway to the Middle East, Africa, and other regions. The esteemed guests also shared their experiences of successful Chinese investments in the Middle East and explored the prospects between China and the Arab countries.

 

H.E. Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, delivered a comprehensive overview of the thriving enterprises in Hamriyah Free Zone. He extended a warm welcome to Chinese enterprises and encouraged them to seize the abundant investment opportunities available in Hamriyah Free Zone. Prof. Wu Yuhua, Global Executive Chairman and Chairman of the China Region of the German-Chinese Alliance, Executive Director of the China Overseas Educated Talent Development Foundation, and Co-Founder and CEO of Yangtze River Delta Hi-tech City, provided invaluable insights into how Chinese companies can successfully expand overseas and integrate into the Middle Eastern cultural environment. Mr. Wang Jiang, Executive Secretary General of China-Africa Private Chamber of Commerce, offered practical advice on risk mitigation strategies for Chinese enterprises when investing in the Middle East. Ms. Lei Huang, Senior Director of Bureau Veritas Industrial Group, emphasized the importance of compliance for Chinese enterprises venturing overseas. Furthermore, Ms. Zhang Liangying, Head of the China Desk of Reanda UAE, presented the firm's professional services tailored for Chinese enterprises seeking to expand overseas.

In the afternoon, Reanda International facilitated one-on-one business meetings between the Hamriyah Free Zone delegation and over 50 enterprises keen on investing overseas. These meetings provided a platform for meaningful exchange and exploration of potential collaboration opportunities.
