Minister of Industry and Trade recently issued two circulars regulating the imports under quota in 2010 and 2011 with the import duty of zero percent as for goods from Cambodia and Laos.
Accordingly, two items from Cambodia including paddy and rice, and dried tobacco leaf will enjoy a tax exemption when being imported to Vietnam from November 1, 2010 to December 31, 2011.
Two item groups from Laos including paddy and rice, tobacco leaf and stem will also enjoy a tax exemption when being imported to Vietnam from January 1 to December 31, 2011.
To enjoy the tax exemption, these imported goods must have certificate of origin under form S (C/O form S) granted by authorities of Cambodia and Laos.
These circulars will take effect from January 17, 2011 and be invalid after December 31, 2011.
